Location: The Canadian Rockies, Kananaskis Country
Kananaskis Country is a forest reserve of 4200 square km located in the foothills of the Canadian Rockies, with average heights of 1500 meters reaching in the continental division heights of more than 3000 m. Many of the emblematic mountain species have lived these mountains for centuries; cougar, deer, elk, rams, black bear and grizly.
Throughout most of its territory, motorized vehicles are prohibited, so traveling on horse or on foot, apartof the most authentic way, is the only way to do it. Great films like "The Reborn" played by Leonardo Dicaprio or "Brokeback Mountain" winner of the Oscar for best film, have been shot in Kananaskis.

FORGETMENOT HORSE PACK EXPEDITION
An unforgettable adventure of 9 days. Six days riding a horse where you will cross mountains, valleys and rivers. Sleeping in mountain camps under the stars and cooking on open fire. In a trip of these characteristics, distances between 120 and 140 km are covered by all types of terrain, therefore basic knowledge in riding and fitness is required.
During the duration of the trip you will have time to develop a close relationship with the horses, and the team of guides, other travelers and of course, with the wild nature of western Canada. Our horses are excellent travel companions, well trained and very important. It will be your trusted travel companion, so taking care of them is a priority. All together we will make sure they have fresh grass and fresh water to drink, as well as a good brushing that they like so much.
